Mission Complete! Cambodia 2013

Thank you volunteers forjoining the Cambodia Medical/Dental Mission Outreach 2013. With your hands, feet, and heart, God the Father has welcomed over 1200 lives into the Kingdom of Heaven. What a blessing your are to our Father in Heaven.

Outreach at the NLF Toul Svey Prey II

The outreach was a blessing to the ministry of New Life Fellowship at Toul Svey Prey. To join and help the congregation and their community in giving the love of Jesus to their neighbor who do not know Jesus.

Site Six Phoum Kandal

Helen Juan called me to her patient who had injured his shoulder 4 years ago and he continues to have pain in that shoulder.  I was unable to pull his arm away from his chest beyond 35 degrees.  We discussed some exercises and I recommended ibuprofen.  I left to check on others at that point.  After a short time, I turned around to see that the man was still with Helen and her translator.  Additionally Pastor Joseph Cerezo was with her as they were all praying over him.  To my surprise, he was flapping his arms like a bird.  Helen just does not let one patient go by without prayer and believing for miracles.  Pastor Joseph joined her as the Holy Spirit was speaking through him to have the man move his arm more and more.  They would not stop until he could move his arm pain free completely over his head.

5th Site Prey Ta Chap

Juanita Joseph was praying over a man who had been an idol worshiper and came to us because he had a stroke in the past.  Since his stroke was several years old there is nothing that can really be offered to him medically in this environment.  He proceeded to Prayer and Healing where Juanita met him.  She prayed over him and he was able to move his arm better.  His translator then let her know that he is mute as well.  He has not been able to speak since his stroke.  After praying further, his first word in years was Jesus!

4th site Prey Romes

Leon Nickens has returned this year after missing the trip in 2012 following an accident.  He was eager to follow up on a number of patients he had ministered to two years ago.  One man is no longer addicted to drugs and is back at work supporting his family.  This year, he identified a young teen girl who reported being sexually abused by her father.  We were able to find her a safe haven to intervene in her safe recovery.

Ikue Horikawa has been a nurse on our missions for many years now.  We had begun our mission with an inbrief from the pastor who explained that one the challenges they have with winning and discipling Cambodians is that they have no Judeo christian foundation for right and wrong.  As she was caring for her patients, she found it difficult to share the Gospel with them.  However, the Holy Spirit directed her to simply share her testimony.  This was such a success especially since she had also grown up in a Buddhist home.  There were sixteen people who dedicated their lives to Jesus as a result of her simple testimony.  Sharing the Gospel is much easier than we realize, especially as we listen to the Holy Spirit’s direction.

3rd site Seyha, Tung Kea Province

Thank you Lord for your grace and goodness. Below is some of the testimonies of the team members:

One of the sites was established in a public school.  The local translator who was assisting in Prayer and Healing took Juanita Joseph to the back to show her where a tree once stood that had been used by the village religious leaders to worship their gods.  When the school was built, the tree was cut down.  Later, they learned that the room they were assigned to for Prayer and Healing was located over the site of that same tree.  The enemy’s strongholds have been cut down!

Janeen Wheeler simply noticed an older gentlemen come into Evangelism with obvious pain in his knees as it was difficult for him to walk.  She laid her hands on his knees and prayed over him with immediate results.  His eyes got big and he jumped up in excitement exclaiming that his knees no longer hurt!  Who needs the docs?

Second outreach site is O’Pheasaing, Takeo Province

The Team continues to be in the presence of God by sharing the gospel and giving medical/dental treatment to around 211 people today. Bearing in mind that people in the province area of Cambodia are farmers and rice fields carry-on for miles by bike or walking. anything over two hundred people coming to the site is big crowd because of the distance they travel to get to the central location of the  outreach site for treatment. The team members labor of love are a witness to the people that searches for hope. The country hungers for a life that would save them from poverty. Jesus gives that life of hope and that is what the team generously carries where ever they go in Cambodia.

a couple of testimonies that came from the team was a whole family that were Christian except a wife of the son who was not, accepted the Lord and the whole family rejoiced with her at the outreached. The second testimony came from one of the translator's father. Sothea invited her father to come for the pain he had in all his joint. The father was prayed over and the pain disappeared. he gave his life to the Lord today.

This mission trip would be impossible without these! These young men and women of New Life Fellowship translate for us in the heat, sweat and rain. They demonstrate the Gospel with great joy!
